the last leaf falls from this tree and still i’m waiting
waiting for you to come then to leave
waiting, just waiting
the endless night sky stays constant as always
i wonder when you come will you find me?
as our hands touch and as our eyes meet
will you ever know?
as my body sways as the wind i long for nothing more
than for you to teach me how to dance in your moment
in the vast expanse of this night sky
i lay in the nothingness of your imaginary touch
drowning in your infinite eyes
my fingers sifting through the sands of time
i grasp at the emptiness of where your hand used to be
pulling you away from the stinging needles of rain
even as i try to protect you
you walk away
under the spiraling stars twisting in agony
i watch the pale moon hide its face behind the clouds
if i call out will you find me?
will you hear me if i scream?
a new leaf falls from this tree
and as always i’ll be waiting
